Elaine Breiger
Etching Faculty, Artist & Printmaker

“I love teaching the etching process - from basic techniques to the experimental. I see printmaking as a fluid process, and while I work closely with students who want to master the traditional forms, I encourage them to think about materials and surfaces in adventurous ways. In that spirit, they have made prints on surfaces as varied as muslin, packaging material, and even, once, a shower curtain. When I am not teaching art or making my own work, I love to run and have completed 27 marathons, including Boston.”
